Ian Rankin at Laing's

I was recently commissioned to photograph renowned Scottish crime writer Ian Rankin, OBE. The shoot was for Laing the Jeweller and as such Mr Rankin was sporting his Cartier watch and Cartier Diamond Dagger crime writing achievement award.
I only had a small window of time to get the required shots so was there in advance to set up a simple twin softbox lighting rig and to take some test shots.  Most of the gallery is covered in glass cabinets and frames so a polarising filter went on pretty quickly to try and eliminate as much of the glare and reflections as possible.  Other than the trials of shooting glass (and being distracted by lovely watches) the whole shoot went smoothly and I got the required images that both myself and the client were very happy with.
If you're in the market for a high-end timepiece then Laing the Jewellers on Frederick Street is the place to go and you can check out their website here.
